Comparison between CLAT and TSLAWCET

The Consortium of National Law Universities conducts (CLAT), a National Level Entrance Exam for admissions to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 22 National Law Universities across the country. Whereas, Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test, abbreviated as TSLAWCET is conducted by the Govt. of Telangana for getting admission into the Telangana state only.
The aspirants who have successfully cracked the CLAT examination are eligible to get an admission among 22 National Law Universities and are also eligible for the State Colleges. The CLAT entrance examination will be conducted in 67 centers throughout the country. Based on the performance in the written examination, the aspirants will get admitted into the Universities.
Whereas, the Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test will be conducted by the Govt. of Telangana for admissions in the State government affiliated law colleges. The entrance examination will be conducted for the entire state on the announced dates as outlined in the notification at various centers in the state. Different states will conduct their own entrance examinations for acquiring admissions into Law colleges.
CLAT Examination will be conducted for 150 Marks, for 120 minutes duration. The question paper will have 5 sections. They are

  2. 2) Legal Aptitude
  3. 3) Logical Reasoning
  4. 4) Elementary Mathematics
  5. 5) General Knowledge & Current Affairs

These are to test the candidate’s skills and knowledge in each subject which they have to apply during their Law career.
TS LAW CET board will conduct the examination for 120 Marks. This examination will have 3 sections to test the candidates.
  1. 1) General Knowledge & Mental Ability
  2. 2) Current Affairs
  3. 3) Aptitude for the Study of Law
Based on the marks obtained in the examination, the board will call for the counselling and seats will be filled in the affiliated colleges. .
